This waltzy thing started, like so many of our songs have done over the years, with a Tommy lick. It started to get a little whimsical in the melodic and lyrical flow, so we went with it and got playful even in our jam-not-jam section (which can feel Pavement-like for some listeners maybe...or Weezer or that world). Big, big ending for everyone in the back.
lyrics
In the Light
Angel hears him as he walks on down the hallway
She notices his gait and coming
She thinks about the way the shimmy is exciting
And the light that she finds so funny
In the light, she finds him funny
In the dark, she thinks it's love
In the light, she finds him funny
In the dark, she thinks it's love
All around little miracles in the woodshop
Every morning is the warning of the final resuscitating
This hypothetical is in no way exploding
Like a fire reaching higher, like a liar, that man up on the wire
In the light, she finds him funny
In the dark, she thinks it's love
In the light, she finds him funny
In the dark, she thinks it's love
In the light, she finds him funny
In the dark, she thinks it's love
In the light, she finds him funny
In the dark, she thinks it's love
In the light, she finds him funny
In the dark, she thinks it's love oh...oh...oh...oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
